for all you opti owners out there /
If you are experiencing a severe down on power like 400 to 600 rpms
a simple thing you need to check before going to your dealer. This can save
you some money and time.
On the top of the flywheel in the center where the lifting ring screws into and the nut holding the flywheel on there is a yellow plastic cap covering the hole keeping it clean.
what happens is the cap dislodges and gets sucked into the intake plenum
and stuck there closing off a good amount of air
to check just take of the top cowl and top shroud and look down into the intake cover. just in front of the throttle body. if the yellow cap is missing on the flywheel thats the first place to look. It could also be that the dealer
after installing the motor didn't put it back on but what I'm talking about is a sudden loss of power after it's been running fine for a while
