... Get pulled over on way to Everglades for bypassing rumble strips. Been bypassing them every week for over a year since they are brutal on my boat trailer and today i get busted. Micosukee officer tells me he has to give me a ticket but to take it to court and it would be dismissed because he won't show up.... Weird, how about a warning buddy?
... Catch a peacock bass in the Everglades. I have caught thousands of fish in the Everglades and NEVER caught a peacock bass until today.
... A bluegill hits my topwater only to be eaten by a mudfish (bowfin). Next thing I know I have 2 live fish in my boat from the same hook!
... Catch 5 tournament keepers in the 1st 15 minutes of fishing. This has never happened to me but i'm hoping it's a sign of things to come for this upcoming weekend's tournament.
... My buddy goes to net a 4lb bass I had on my line, he jumps, only to jump up in the air and into the net. Fish should have gotten away!
... FWC officer pulls us over while we are fishing. I have been fishing the Everglades every week for 1.5 years and have never seen a FWC officer. This kid must have been 21 years old, asked a ton of fishing related questions, jotted down all the answers, never asked for a fishing license or didn't bother to check our livewell.
Definitely a day filled with "first times"
