I hear a lot of negatives about MotorGuide trolling motors but I've used them since 1994. I had a circuit board fry on one of them in the late 90's and that's the only problem I've ever had with'em. I got a new one this year, 82# thrust digital pro tour with pull-pull steering and it has absolutely no torque steer. The peddle has the on button on the right side - where it's supposed to be. I looked at minnkota thinking that's what I was going to get but I thought the mount was fuggly and there was no relief slot or any real means to get the transducer cable past the shaft bracket and down to the motor. Soooo.... went back with MG.
