Visibility of HDS-5 Screen Flush-Mounted in Bow of Boat

Looking for feed back from anyone who has flush-mounted an HDS-5 in the bow of their boat. Is the screen big enough to see detail while running the trolling motor? Any glare or reflection issues making it unusable? Would I be better off putting unit on a gimble mount? Or should I look at mounting an HDS-7 instead? Has anyone flush mounted a HDS-7 unit on the bow of their boat. I would prefer to flush mount (keep it out of the way, more secure, less worry about theft, concern for moisture at connectors). Thanks for the feedback...
