Finally I got to spool up the reel I won in last months membership drive.
Upon taking it out of the box I was a little skeptical seeing the weird looking edge of the spool, but I figured I'll give it a chance.
First off I'll say the finish and overall look of the reel was good and the quality
was good. I spent about 5-6 hours with it and didn't have any problems with line tangles or over running the spool etc. even though I was casting into the wind for a good part of that time. I did not notice any increase in casting distance. The drag seemed to be more than adequate and they include extra drag washers. One really cool feature is that the front of the reel spool comes off and lets you remove your line instantly. Another thing I really like is the over sized grip on the handle. All in all for the price it sells for xxxx, I'd recommend it, the only drawback I can think of is that to me it's a heavy reel at 10 ozs.
