After spending an entire day reeling up yellow tail, sharks, kings, and all sorts of fish, I still don't feel half of the satisfaction of Bass Fishing. Ocean feels just too easy. There is always something to catch. I HATE live baiting with a passion, and jigging a dead squid isn't much better. Plus there is virtually no catch and release...
I guess what I'm saying is that Bass Fishing is hard, and I love the technical challenge compared to almost every other fishing. I get far more satisfaction landing a limit during a nasty cold front then I do getting a dozen bull Mahi trolling. It requires so much more work, and if you get a bite, it's not random. You did something to make that Bass bite. It feels good to find the patten, the place, and the pace to catch. Nothing else does that for me.
So what drives you guys?
