Well it's pretty much getting deep winter time in the northern country so what do you do with your electronics? If you are able to remove the units from the boat pull them off and place them in a warm and dry environment. Clean the exterior of the units per the manufacturer's recommendations then spray a little WD40 into the connection ports. WD40 is a "Water Displacement" fluid not a lubricant and will help reduce any corrosion or rusting on the fine electronic plugs.

If you are unable to remove the units and store your boat outside then cover the units in addition to your boat cover, with the cover provided by the manufacturer or a piece of an old raincoat in order to keep moisture and frost off the unit. Check the units occasionally to ensure you've kept the moisture off the units. When you bring the boat out of storage clean off the surface of the units and treat the connections as mentioned above prior to powering up your units. All manufacturers post min/max temperature ranges so if you've left the units outside try to bring the boat inside to warm it up slowly.

Maintain your electronics and they will provide great performance for years.
