Hey guys, need the experts help here (diagrams are welcome). I'm finally getting 2 batteries for my trolling motor tomorrow. Although it's only a 12v trolling motor, I am looking for extended battery life, especially for tournament fishing. I'm currently using only 1 trolling motor battery currently and need to know a few things:

1.. When I install both trolling motor batteries, do you suggest I connect some of my current components to the trolling motor batteries or keep them all connected to my cranking battery (live well, electronics, navigation lights) and keep ONLY the trolling motor batteries for the trolling motor?

2.. Based on research, I would be connecting both trolling motor batteries in parallel. What would the wiring look like? Do I simply replace my current battery and replicate the wiring the way it is now with one battery and simply piggy back the 2nd battery to the 1st one that everything is plugged into? How does the wiring diagram work for running a 2nd battery to my 12v trolling motor?

*** Oh yeah, i'm getting 2 new deep cycle 27 group Interstate batteries. Not matching a new one with my current one as i heard it wouldn't be a good idea adding a new battery to a 2 year old one that isn't holding charge the way it used to.
