Just a little FYI for ya'll..............When doing any wiring in your boat, you should always make every effort to use "TINNED WIRE", tinned wire is for marine applications and prevents corrosion, copper wire exposed to the elements/moisture will corrode. I know you guy's are saying......... hell I've added something in my boat years ago and never had any issues. Well it's not to say you obsolutly will, but chances are it will eventually, it's just a matter of time, just a little info to share...............
I too am guilty of using copper wire (un-tinned) in my boat but, I use die-electric grease in every connection to seal against corrosion. You can pick up a tube of die-electric grease at most auto part stores, it's cheap insurance to keep everything running as it should.......
