My need or want for one does not involve bass fishing but for when I go to 10,000 Islands for sea trout & reds. The depth on the grass beds where the fish are caught is usually 4-6 feet and when you get in a good area, it's difficult to stay there out in the open with any wind. Throwing out an anchor in such shallow water is more trouble than it's worth because you just trash the boat with mud and weeds every time you pull it up to move. What I've done for years and was the common practice B4 PowerPoles was to jam your push pole in the mud and tie off to it. That still works fine and does not add any more weight to the boat. Now that I've seen the Ppoles and Talon up close, my boat could not handle the added weight anyway without suffering a few MPH's loss. So I've changed my mind on the issue and will stick with the push pole. It's a 16 footer and already secured to my boat for every trip so why not utilize it....and I'll save a lot of Benjamin's.
