Hey guys, just got home from my nearly two week trip to Okeechobee. Boat performed great and new hydraulic jackplate makes a world of difference in both holeshot and squeezing into skinny water. Oh -Shark frog rules on The Big O's grassbeds! I caught 4 chain pickerel. And lost just as many by them biting through my line untilI switched to braid.
Blew my right front tire on my truck today on the way home about 7 miles north of Haines City. Had to buy a new 37 x 12.50 x 17 Pro Comp Mud Terrain- not a cheap tire. I have alot of photo's to post from my trip but I'll wait til the site tweaks are done to be on the safe side. I should have a few of me lighting the water on fire on a couple of passes.
I love my new jackplate but now I gotta get a low water pickup nose cone on my lower. I had closed off the two top holes on my lowers water pickups to be safe while I spent about 30-45 minutes getting some seat time in. Got some other motor tweaks to do as well. I think both low speed and WOT timing is off so gotta adjust those, and I spun the hub on my Hoss HPD (hyperdrive), my fastest prop so I ran my yammie drag 4 the rest of the time. Despite mixed opinions it worked really well on my boat -especially the higher I lifted the motor. I had my Hydromotive and Ron Hill 4 blade props with me also but didn't want to go all the way back to the ramp just to get a prop.
Oh you were right Ron we launched in South Bay. Nice ramps. The greatest thing was we could drive our boats back to the house for lunch, etc. I'm DEFINATELY moving down there. It may take me a few months to get enough fixed in my house to rent it out but I'm moving down there for sure. Next week I have an appointment with my banker and a Realtor.
I'll post some photos after I figure out how and they finish tweaking the site. I think I found the "insert" function but I wank the OK from Kev before posting photos. So keep an eye on this thread -more to come.
